Join the movement
In support of the professionalisation of cybersecurity, we have formed a free online forum to debate the terms of art, suggest additions or clarifications, agree on definitions, and offer alternative interpretations. Join us to share insights on the terminology and its practical applications. Connect with your peers and contribute to the collective understanding and development of cybersecurity-related language.

Through active participation and feedback, we are building a living resource that both reflects and drives the ongoing evolution of language and practices across this critical and expansive field.
'We' are a diverse global group of information risk and cybersecurity professionals, students, academics, technologists and language experts, standardisers and others, united in our desire to make progress, together.
Participating in the Hyperglossary group is your opportunity to contribute your wisdom to the field, and perhaps feature in forthcoming editions of the Cybersecurity Hyperglossary.
Future updates will be informed by the active participation of this community. Working together, I believe we can clarify the jargon, bridge communication gaps, reduce ambiguity (risk!) and foster a more consistent lexicon.

It's free? Oh, nice, let me in!
If you have a keen interest in the linguistics, language and terminology relating to cybersecurity, especially if you wish to contribute actively rather than simply participating or observing, please:

This is simply a Google Group. Membership of the Hyperglossary group is FREE ... but please state your case briefly when you apply to join: in just a few short words, persuade me that you are community-minded. If you write nothing at all, like a noxious spam bot, your application will probably be rejected out of hand.
I promise not to bombard you with spam nor disclose your details to third parties, except the group and email service providers for the sole purpose of emailing you (obviously!). Trust me: I'm a cybersecurity pro. I detest spam.

If it's not what you expected, you can suspend the group emails, change your email address or unsubscribe at any time, no worries, either via Groups.Google.com or using links at the bottom of community messages.
